The fossil record is full of stories, but how do we tell them? And how do we decide which ones to tell? In this episode, science writer, Riley Black, will take you inside the mechanics of science writing and journalism as this talk explores how fossils go from discovery to front-page news!

Riley Black (she/her) is the author of Skeleton Keys, My Beloved Brontosaurus, and more, with bylines in publications from Nature to Slate. She also volunteers with field crews from multiple institutions each summer to carry out fossil fieldwork throughout the west.
